H&K Motors sales was founded in 1960 by Howard Halgewoks and Kenneth Winkle in Continental OH. The two long time friends worked together as 50/50 partners for nearly a decade with Howard running the service department and Ken working in the showroom. In the early years they made a living selling new Chevrolets and AMC vehicles. The AMC automotive brand was dissolved and H&K motors went on selling new Chevrolets in for many years. In the early 1970's, Howard retired and sold his portion of the company to Ken. In the late 1980's, H&K motors sale acquired the Buick and Pontiac franchises from a nearby dealership that had closed its doors. Ron Winkle, Ken's youngest son became Dealer Operator of H&K in the late 1980's. Ken soon retired from the daily operations and enjoyed splitting time between Ohio and his place in south east Florida. Ron's youngest son, Ryan, became Dealer Operator of H&K in 2012. H&K has since expanded its footprint to include new Chevrolet locations in Archbold OH (2018), and New Haven IN (2023). While the H&K brand continues to grow, the focus is the same.
